- CDS
-
- The aim of the CDS (Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer) instrument is to detect emission lines from trace elements in
- the corona and transition region which will be used to provide diagnostic information on the solar atmosphere and
- especially on plasmas in the temperature range from 10,000 to over a million K. This allows the derivation of
- characteristics such as temperature structure, electron density, element abundances, and dynamic nature of different
- features in the solar atmosphere. This all is in order to understand the heating and other dynamic processes in solar
- atmosphere.
